                History.
Gamma Beta Delta Sorority was founded in September of 1988 at the City University of New York - Brooklyn College. Our founders felt that there was a need on campus for a sorority that concentrated on the need of every individual. Unlike other sororities on campus, our founding eleven mothers: Amy Feigenbaum, Arati Marathe, Antonietta Turturo, Joann Zammit, Kim Woljik, Lisa Castillo, Lisa Rosenbloom, Marina Slupsky, Mary Vlahopolous, Samina Khan and Vicky Seretis sought to assemble a sorority with truly "no strings attached".

In addition to this, they made it their task to change the traditional views of Greek letter organizations by breaking away from the harsh pledging practices of the other fraternities and sororities to prove once and for all that they can be unbiased, integrated and productive.

Today, we continue our original credence- that sororities are productive, beneficial and an integral part of college life, on and off campus. We offer each member a sense of comradeship, outlets for creative energy and experience in leadership. We also offer each member friendship, sisterhood, trust and a sense of loyalty.
